"THRESHOLD"

My newest exhibit, "Threshold" will have an opening reception on Gallery Night, Friday, October 7, from 5-8 pm, at Breathe, on the Ithaca Commons.  This new work is a series of fine art black and white portraits of kids, ages 9-15.  These portraits are created at a time where they’re leaving the innocence of childhood behind, and are beginning to step through the doorway of adolescence, independence, and a new identity.  During this transitional stage of life, there’s a lot of peer pressure, physical and emotional development, and often, self-criticism. This can be a difficult time, and through these portraits, kids are able to see themselves in a new light, and get a new perspective of who they really are.

"INTO THE LIGHT"

On Gallery Night, Friday, May 1, there was an opening reception at Studio West for my exhibit, "Into the Light - A Celebration of Women Healers".  It was an incredible evening, with a very large turnout for the event.  I'm so thankful to all of the people who came out to see the show, and for all of the wonderful feedback I received! 

I was inspired to create this work because I feel that women all over the world are experiencing a spiritual awakening that is essential, to help bring our world back into balance.  We're at a critical time in history where we need more of the feminine energy to help us evolve towards a more kind, loving, and compassionate world.  I wanted to honor the work of all women healers, and help them to be recognized for the important work that they're doing.
